Call for Editors, Journal of Hunter-Gatherer Research

The Journal of Hunter Gatherer Research is currently seeking General Editors. We are a small but growing journal, published with Liverpool University Press, and we are assembling a team of committed, collegial hunter-gatherer researchers from across all relevant disciplines to join our editorial team.

General editors will be responsible for editing one to two papers per year. This will include sourcing reviewers, and liaising with reviewers and authors to produce a publishable piece of work. Additionally, General Editors will be tasked with sourcing external submissions for the journal. General Editors will also be encouraged to submit one (or more!) of their own papers to the journal during their two-year tenure, for triple-blind review.

The role is a good opportunity to both advance your research networks and be directly involved in shaping our field. We encourage applicants of all career stages to apply, and we especially welcome early-career researchers as well as typically under-represented minorities. The only qualifications are an ability to liaise professionally with authors and reviewers, alongside a sincere commitment to advancing hunter-gatherer research globally.

To apply, please send your CV to hgr@ishgr.org, alongside a document of no more than 500 words describing your fit for the role.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Duncan Stibbard-Hawkes and Vivek Venkataraman, Editors-In-Chief, Hunter-Gather Research
